The LoneSTAR Coalition Against Pornography (or LCAP) is a non-profit agency with a mission to educate Texans about the harmful effects of pornography. One of our main objectives is to hold a conference in a major Texas city each year in order to raise awareness, increase knowledge, and unite Texans in the fight against pornography. We are excited to announce our 2015 Conference in Dallas, Texas.

If you are interested in learning more about the LoneSTAR Coalition Against Pornography, please join us for this year’s conference. Additionally, you can support this important cause by volunteering your time and energy and/or making a financial do nation. Donald L. Hilton Jr., M.D.

Conference Topic: Pornography and the Brain: Understanding the Science of Addiction and Recovery
Dr. Donald L. Hilton, Jr., M.D. is a clinical associate professor of neurosurgery at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio, where he is the director of the spine fellowship and also director of the Methodist Hospital rotation for the residency training program. His research and publishing interests have included traumatic brain injury, minimally invasive surgery, and neural mechanisms of addiction. He has authored recent peer-reviewed journal articles on addiction include papers in the Journal of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), Socioaffective Neuroscience and Psychology, and Surgical Neurology International, where he serves on the editorial board. He is also the author of He Restoreth My Soul. He has spoken in numerous forum and symposiums in this regard, including at Harvard, Princeton, the University of Virginia, Holy Cross, Utah Valley University, and BYU, including at the BYU Department of Social Work Symposium in 2012. He is a speaker a BYU Education Week where he will speak again this year for the fifth year. He was the keynote speaker at the annual Lighted Candle Society in 2009 where he and his wife received the Guardian of the Light Award. He has spoken at the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health (SASH) in 2012 and at the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP) Symposium in 2014, where he was keynote speaker. He was the keynote speaker at the Utah Coalition against Pornography Conference in 2014 in Salt Lake City, as well as a keynote speaker at the LoneSTAR Coalition Against Pornography Conference in 2014 in Dallas.

Shane Adamson, LCSW-S, EFT, CSAT Candidate

Conference Topic: Roadmap to Recovery from Pornography Addiction
Shane Adamson, LCSW-S, EFT, CSAT candidate, is a counselor, and Director of LifeSTAR Dallas and Center for Marriage and Family Counseling. Shane's 20 years of experience combined with his education has prepared him with a skill set to help people heal complex problems and improve relationships. Shane's specialties include treatment for pornography and sex addiction, and couples counseling. He is a Co-Director of the LoneSTAR Coalition Against Pornography, with Dale Rylander. Shane received his Master's of Social Work degree from the University of Utah. He founded Family First Counseling in Utah, which grew to be a leading agency in helping individuals, couples and families overcome many complex problems. After selling this agency, he moved to Dallas, TX to start LifeSTAR, a specialized treatment program for pornography and sexual addiction issues.

Mike Riches

Conference Topic: Safeguarding the Home and Teaching Kids about Sex
President of Harvard Risk Management Corporation, Mike Riches is also an accomplished national speaker and corporate trainer. He speaks for groups of 15,000+. Mike studied at Brigham Young University. He has served in various leadership positions in multiple youth organizations, and spoken at various conferences for teenagers. He is passionate about youth and pornography prevention. He has trained hundreds of parents on internet safety and pornography prevention. Mike Riches resides in Little Elm TX, and loves spending time with his lovely wife, Ally, and his five wonderful children.

Pennie Johnson Carnes, LPC, LCDC, CSAT, CMAT

Conference Topic: The Many Faces of the Partners' Pain: A Brief Overview of Their Crisis and Identity
Pennie J. Carnes, LPC, LCDC, CSAT, CMAT is employed by New Freedom Corporation as the Program Manager. Pennie is the manager of the Twelve Principles Recovery Program; a web-based recovery program which serves the global recovery community. She is committed to providing her professional services in support of the American Foundation for Addiction Research (AFAR). In 2013, she published articles in The Professional Counselor magazine and the Journal for Pastoral Care and Counseling and in 2015, she co-authored her first book , Dr. Patrick Carnes' classic workbook used to treat sexual addiction. She advocates for the Prostitution Diversion Intervention (PDI) program in the Dallas County District Attorney's office, Dallas, TX where she serves as a consultant helping to develop and implement the first Dallas County Johns' School - a program focused on reducing the demand for prostitution. Serving within this capacity, she also provides sex addiction awareness education classes.

Clay Olsen

Conference Topic: What Teens Wish Their Parents Knew When Addressing the Issue of Pornography
Clay Olsen is a passionate filmmaker, marketer, and entrepreneur born and raised in Northern Utah. Over the years he's been a part of starting several successful companies ranging from film, advertising, interior design, and nonprofits. He finds the most fulfillment in helping others, which is why he left a growing company and co-founded Fight the New Drug with a few like-minded friends. Since then they have been featured on ABC Nightline, ABC News, CNN, and the Dr. Drew Show. Clay has presented to nearly 150 schools and tens of thousands of teens all over the country. He believes education is the most powerful weapon to combat the influence of pornography in our society.
